About Dana

“Dana Tecla Nelson is currently updating her biographical information. . . .”

These words were written by Dana’s sister, Nikki circa 2003.  The words languished alone on this website for years.

The intentions of both sisters were good, but Dana forgot to provide her biographical information and Nikki did not want to put the information in her own words, as though writing a eulogy for Dana.  Both sisters mentioned it from time to time but neither followed through with whatever action might have brought the thought to life.

It is ironic that what was supposed to be “About Dana” has actually become something like a eulogy, because Dana Tecla Nelson died on July 14, 2022, at the age of 72.  She was a generous and loving sister and family member, with an extended network of friends, school mates, colleagues and co-workers.  All  words seem insufficient.  Perhaps this is why she eschewed the “traditional” autobiography/obituary.
